Poetry And Songs Have Been Written On The Tiger, A..

Poetry and songs have been written on the tiger, a magnificent creature of great power, evoking both fear and awe in all who behold its might. Such was its repute that in some cultures, tigers are believed to possess mystical healing powers.
.
The tiger came to be seen as a universal apothecary of sorts, a bringer of life, virility and vitality. Some believe that by consuming parts of the tiger, one can absorb its life force and all its attributes. Despite the lack of scientific evidence to prove its efficacy, this mystical belief turned the hunter into the hunted.
.
From whisker to tail, every part of the tiger has been found in illegal wildlife markets. As a result of persistent demand, their bones and other body parts are used for modern health tonics and folk remedies; its claws and teeth fashioned into protective amulets and their skins sought after as status symbols. No part of the tiger is spared while poachers profit handsomely from every tiger killed.
.
As long as there is demand, the tiger will continue to lose its life to illegal wildlife trade. If we do not act now, the Malayan tiger will soon be extinct.
