Notice For Community Animal Caregivers. Dear Commu..

NOTICE FOR COMMUNITY ANIMAL CAREGIVERS

Dear community animal caregivers,

Thank you for taking care of our community animals even during this circuit breaker period. We appreciate your kindness and commitment to the animals.

As you go about providing the community animals with food, we also want you to stay safe, so do take note of the following:

• Abide by all safe distancing measures announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) when feeding community animals

• Wear your mask once you are outside of your home to do feeding

• Feed alone; do not join in feeds if there is already another caregiver at the intended feeding spot/location

• Supervise the feeding and clear leftover food and receptacles to avoid dirtying the environment

• Return home immediately after feeding; do not loiter

• Comply with the instructions from safe distancing enforcement officers if asked to leave

Caregivers who are unwell and on Quarantine Order or Stay Home Notice should not come out to feed community animals.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and other national animal health organisations have maintained that, to date, there is no evidence of animal to human transmission of Covid19. However, it is encouraged that:

• Persons that are unwell limit their contact with animals as well as other people

• Practise good hygiene when handling animals

• Wash hands thoroughly before and after direct contact with animals, their supplies and food

If you are unable to feed the community animals due to unforeseen circumstances, do reach out to the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) or the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) for assistance to enlist the help of other caregivers who may be feeding in or near the area.

SPCA – enquiries@spca.org.sg

Thank you.
