They Grow Up So Fast, Dont They? When We First Tol..

They grow up so fast, don’t they? When we first told you about Thungyah and Thungnar, they were just a month old and could fit in the palm of their carer’s hand. In the updated photos below, they’re approaching five months old and are bigger and stronger than ever. You could still say this brother and sister duo are a handful, but in playfulness now instead of size.
Thungyah and Thungnar were found abandoned in a rice field not far from our shelter. They had a brother too, Thungkao, but sadly he didn’t make it.
Without the round-the-clock care only a mother cat or dedicated human can provide, Thungyah and Thungnar fell victim to a number of health issues. They arrived with cat flu, diarrhoea, dermatitis and an infection that caused their eyes to become severely inflamed. We’re pleased to say that, thanks to supporters like you, these special siblings have made remarkable progress in only a few short months. Although they each had an eye that couldn’t be saved, the surgical wounds are healing normally, and they’re adapting well to the change. The optic nerve in their remaining eyes was damaged by the infection, but our vets are doing everything they can to ensure that they hold on to their vision.
It hasn’t been an easy road for Thungyah and Thungnar, and they still have a way to go before they can join a suite with healthy, adoptable cats. Thungyah is on a special intestinal diet, while Thungnar is recovering from two contagious feline viruses. But thanks to cat lovers like you, they’re a far cry away from their days in the rice field.
Despite the current crisis, Soi Dog is still out there every day rescuing animals like Thungyah and Thungnar who desperately need help. Please help us at this difficult time by joining our Care for Cats Club and become a hero for homeless cats today. https://links.soidog.org/Save-kittens-like-Thungyah-Thungnar
