It is the Orang Asli culture and tradition to respect and depend on the forest as the source of all their needs. For generations, the Orang Asli and wildlife have existed in harmony in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex. However, encroachment by outsiders threatens the safety and livelihood of the Orang Asli as they encroach onto village areas.

As village head, Kawah’s mission is to safeguard the forest from the threats of encroachment, so that his community can continue to thrive in harmony with nature.
