Dyk Many Local Communities Live In And Around Fore..

#DYK Many local communities live in and around forested areas, which makes them vulnerable to human-wildlife conflict. Incidences such as livestock loss due to tigers and crop raiding by elephants can cause villagers to retaliate and kill these animals.

WWF-Malaysia works with Orang Asli communities to facilitate their participation in anti-poaching activities, and develop alternative livelihood programmes such as eco-tourism activities that are linked to conserving natural resources.

This is being done through a series of community engagement and participatory activities, such as exploring suitable sources of income that encourages them to be involved in wildlife conservation.
