COVID-19 AND OUR WILDLIFE RESCUE OPERATIONS

Since the #Covid19 outbreak, our #WildlifeRescue team have been mustering through this difficult time and operating as usual 24/7.

However, in light of recent developments, we will be putting in precautionary measures to optimise our wildlife rescue operations.

We are currently facing a shortage of #volunteers. With over 1,100 cases received a month, in order to minimise fatigue already experienced by our limited staff and volunteers, we will be scaling down our rescue efforts. This is also in order to prioritise care for our 150 over live wild animals housed at any given time, and whom we need to continue caring for at our facility.

Wild animals we will be attending to:

1. Snakes, monitor lizards and other large reptiles who are injured or need to be relocated.

2. Birds who are stuck/entangled on foreign objects (strings, fishing line) and hanging on trees/ledges, requiring on-site rescue operations.

3. Badly injured macaques, wild pigs, pangolins, colugos, common palm civets or other large mammals (case-by-case basis).

4. Injured/concussed large birds like raptors or herons.

5.Poisoned pigeons/other birds numbering in groups of 10 or more.

We will require you to still call our hotline for all other wild animals for assessment over the phone and if assessed to need caring please send them to us as per our guidelines.

This is to ensure that we can continue to focus our manpower on our animal care and rehabilitation efforts being the only #charity organisation that attends to all wild animals common or not.
