Please Stay Safe…for Your Animals
Tweet |
For the last few days, we have been in touch with some of our applicants to ask if they are facing any problems with feeding their community animals.
So far, from the ones we managed to contact, all have said that they are still able to go out to feed their community animals. That is indeed good to hear.
Some restaurants are closed, but the workers continue feeding the animals. Some feeders have also brought their community animals home and this is possible because they kept the colony small, which is what we have been advocating all this while – keep it small and manageable. While previously, we said it is wise to do within your means because food and medical treatment cost money, now, we see another reason – when it is not safe “outside”, at least we can still bring them indoors, if only as a temporary measure. Some have also chosen to bring home their “office colony” since it is advocated that we should stay home as much as we can.
If you are an outdoor feeder, please practise social distancing when feeding, and come home quickly after that. Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and water. Take a head-to-toe bath as well. Please practise safe hygiene and stay safe. Our animals need us.
We were informed that some petstores are closed and some petfood suppliers have also ceased operations due to lack of humanpower. For this, we are extremely grateful to Avant Pet for continuing their delivery service.
Stay safe, everyone. For yourself and your animals.
