It is possible for pets to become carriers of COVID-19 with close contact to confirmed patients, but they will not develop any sickness symptoms.
It is not known whether they can further transmit it to other humans or animals.
Virologist Malik Peiris says an infection does not mean an animal has the disease or is showing symptoms.
