BEATING CURFEW TO FEED HUNGRY ANIMALS IN STREET

“The whole day today until the curfew we have been feeding animals,” Bosnian animal rescuer Edina Pasic writes. “Now we drive fast home. I don’t even know what to write anymore. No people on the streets no one to feed them. The dogs were practically running to take the food out of my hands even those who didn’t approach me before they now do. We fed the dogs and cats around the city, on the mountains and out of Sarajevo. All the animals are starving. They were hungry before but never like this. There were some older people who fed them sometimes, their leftovers, but now those people are forbidden to leave their homes at all.”

Many of you are familiar with the Harmony Fund international animal rescue charity. We focus on the underdogs. We’re trying to raise funds for dog and cat food for Edina plus as much as possible for our other rescuers who are engaged in the same acts of mercy in their own communities. We’ve been working with these rescuers for years and trust them implicitly to reach the animals who would otherwise face starvation during this crisis.
