Barcero's Dream Is To One Day Be The Happiest Dog ..

I couldn’t have done it without the vets at the shelter. They cared for me when I was brought in with a leg wound so deep you could see the bone. I had got caught in a trap and tugged desperately until my paw was free. The wound was dangerously infected and my leg had to be amputated, but the vets were there every wobbly step of the way as I got used to life on three legs.

I should also thank the Behaviour Team. Can you believe I used to be fearful and shy, searching for the nearest corner to hide in? Not anymore. They worked closely with me, helping me build my confidence and learn to trust humans again. Now I’m a friendly and playful boy as well as a happy one. I can still be a little hesitant with new people at first, but I’m getting better with each passing day.

Lastly, I’d like to thank the volunteers who shower me in love and kisses and take me out for walks every day. They love how my ears flop, my head bobs and my tongue hangs out as I run and explore.
