Hello! I’m Maepetch which means “diamond mother” in Thai. My family are all named after gemstones. Diamond seemed like the right choice for me as I’m strong, precious and you can’t help but be drawn to me! https://links.soidog.org/Adopt-soidog-Maepetch
Soi Dog’s animal rescue officers found my daughters – Maethong, Maeploy and Maengern – and I struggling to survive on the streets of Phuket. Our eyes were sore and inflamed, and we were suffering from varying degrees of blindness. We couldn’t see the dangers around us, and finding food and clean water was becoming more difficult by the day. The officers knew we would be much safer at the shelter.
When we arrived, we were rushed to the hospital. A close examination of my eyes showed that I had hypermature cataracts which had caused me to go completely blind. The vets say my vision may return one day, but they can’t be sure. So for now, I’m learning to adapt to life with four senses instead of five.
Everyone here at the shelter knows me as the adorably cross-eyed girl with the cute white patch on her chest and the heart of gold underneath.
I’m a bright girl, but I will need guidance when I’m out walking and when I’m mapping out where everything is in my new home. If there are other dogs in the house, that’s great. The support of a canine companion really helps me manage my blindness too. I can be very shy around new people and dogs at first, but once I get to know them, they’re my friends for life.
Can you offer me the home I deserve? Enquire here: https://links.soidog.org/Adopt-soidog-Maepetch I promise to be by your side always. After all, diamonds are forever!
