My friend, Kon and his family, lost their 9-year old Pinscher, Floss, this morning. Floss had undergone emergency surgery last night to address a ruptured intestine. The surgery was successful but Floss did not make it past the 24-hour critical period.
Kon and his family laid Floss to rest this afternoon.
Kon said Floss’ fosterer (when the family went on holidays) also came to pay her last respects.
Amidst chanting, the offering of flowers and burning of incense, Floss was laid to rest with respect, dignity and full of love.
Kon’s daughter, Elena, wrote a tribute in memory of Floss: http://itsrainingbananas.blogspot.com/
May Floss journey onwards to a better place.
And may Kon, Siew Ee, Christine, Elena and Hillary find peace in their hearts knowing that they have given Floss a wonderful life full of love and it is now time for Floss to move on to a better place.
We thank our panel vets and their assistants for having done their very best to help Floss, and also to all readers who have said prayers for Floss. Special thanks to the elderly Mr Lim for doing distance healing for Floss until 2am last night.
May it be
(from The Lord of the Rings)
May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home
Mornie utulie
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie
A promise lives within you now
May it be the shadow’s call
Will fly away
May it be you journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun
