Here comes Wimbledon’s next ball girl!
My name’s Brigid and, as you can see, I’m a big fluffball, with gorgeous caramel-coloured ears and cute, stocky legs. What you can’t see, though, is my big personality and heart of gold.

Soi Dog Foundation found me in an overcrowded government shelter in northern Thailand in 2018. Following an exaggerated rabies scare, the Thai government rounded me and thousands of other street dogs up and held us there. Healthy and sick dogs were housed together, and not all of us made it out alive. I was one of the lucky dogs that made it to safety.
When I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket, the vets noticed my gait wasn’t quite right, and I spent a long time in their hospital undergoing a number of surgeries on my hind legs to fix it. Now I’m making up for lost time by chasing every tennis ball, sniffing every blade of grass and cuddling all of my favourite hoomans.
When I see staff and volunteers I know, I get so excited I let out cute whines and howls and spin in circles until I fall over! Safe to say I’m easily stimulated at times. In part, that’s because I’m just so grateful for my new life. It’s also because the shelter can be a bit overwhelming, and I long to finally have a space of my own.
My ideal home would have tennis balls. Lots of tennis balls. Enough to supply Wimbledon, and then some. If there’s another dog or two, that’s okay, but it’s best if they’re of a gentle temperament. I think a calming canine influence would be good for me.
