In 2015, following the success of controlling the free roaming dog population in Soi Dog Foundation’s native city of Phuket, the CNVR (Catch Neuter Vaccinate Return) programme extended to Thailand’s capital, Bangkok.

The long-term operation targeting the estimated 600,000+ population of street dogs, in Bangkok began its full time operations, with aid from Dogs Trust UK.
What started off with a few thousand sterilisations a year, has now grown into a massively efficient and successful project.
In 2019, the Bangkok CNVR team comprising of 6 mobile teams completed over 70,000 sterilisations and up to date have neutered and vaccinated nearly 200,000 dogs and cats.
In other words, the birth of thousands if not millions of unwanted puppies and kittens were prevented from being born into a life of suffering.
CNVR is at the heart of Soi Dog’s mission to alleviate the welfare issues faced by the street dogs and cats in Thailand and all over Asia and to this date, we have sterilised over 390,000 animals, all over Thailand.
