Wetlands Are Rich In Biodiversity

Wetlands are rich in biodiversity as they are home to a wide variety of animal and plant life. Many species, including threatened and endangered, only live on wetlands or use wetlands at some point of their lives. Most other species depend on wetlands for survival purposes, such as food, shelter and breeding grounds.

.

In the Setiu Wetlands, WWF-Malaysia conducts biodiversity assessments to determine the key areas of high conservation value for biodiversity. This information is vital to establish management priorities and to ensure these key areas within the wetlands receive greater protection.

.

In conjunction with World Wetlands Day 2020, we would like to highlight the biodiversity of Setiu Wetlands and promote actions to conserve this wetlands and its biodiversity.
