Terribly Injured By A Vehicle, This Old Girl Refus..

Eight-year-old Tarnsuay arrived with a host of problems. But with her cheerful attitude and a determination we don’t often see in older dogs, we believe she will beat the odds and thrive.

This poor sweetie was hit by a vehicle – a tragedy that too often befalls homeless animals. To save dogs like Tarnsuay, we need help from people like you. Will you please pledge a small monthly gift and join the Emergency Response Team now? Click here to donate: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

Tarnsuay was found near a hotel barely able to move, her two left legs dragging uselessly. A kind man found her days after the accident and drove 45 minutes to bring her to our hospital. The poor thing was so frightened, she wet herself.

The precious old girl is safe with us now and is getting all the care she needs. Aside from her leg injuries, Tarnsuay was severely dehydrated, infested with ticks and worms, had a live maggot wound on her back, and had a dislocated left hip and some muscle wastage.

Happily, she has tested negative for distemper, one of the most serious viral diseases an animal can get.

Our vets have been amazed by Tarnsuay’s bright spirit and iron will. They have observed her trying to walk hopping on only her right legs. She’s receiving hydrotherapy, and is improving bit by bit.

This oldie isn’t taking her situation lying down, and seems very happy in our main kennel. We won’t give up if she won’t! She’s receiving good food and safe shelter, and all the comforts we can offer her while we determine whether we can save her left front leg.

As you might imagine, this level of care for a dog is costly. But when you consider we usually have around 1,100 animals at our hospital and shelter – near our capacity – the figure becomes downright astronomical. We need you if we are to keep rescuing animals from desperation and misery.

None of Tarnsuay’s care would be possible without the help of people who believe that all animals deserve a good life, and want nothing more than to see dogs like her thrive in spite of the heavy odds against them. Will you please help ensure we can continue to save them? https://emergency.soidog.org/ert
