Bb-Eight Was Named After A Star Wars Droid. But Un..

BB-Eight was named after a Star Wars droid. But unlike the BB-Eight of movie fame, this sweet little girl is very capable of feeling. And so far in her life, she sadly has felt more than her share of pain.

She was found with two deep wounds around her neck – most likely from rope and/or chain that had been there for who knows how long. Will you please help BB-Eight and mistreated animals like her by joining the Emergency Response Team now? Click here: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

This lovely 5-year-old and cruelty victims like her couldn’t have been rescued without support from kind animal lovers like you.

One of our animal rescue officers brought BB-Eight to one of our mobile clinics for sterilisation. We saw the wound and knew she couldn’t return to where she’d been so callously treated. She is safe with us now, and her neck and spay surgery wounds are healing well.

As always, timing is everything. This poor girl was also severely dehydrated (7%), but we got her before serious complications such as brain damage could occur. BB-Eight is also anaemic, and has kidney abnormalities we want to keep an eye on.

BB-Eight is one of many new faces at the shelter, where we already care for around 1,100 animals at any given time. As you might imagine, this is quite expensive.

Tragically, our vets report seeing more cruelty cases – both intentional and from neglect – than ever before.

We obviously want to help as many of these desperate animals as we can, but we are very stretched for funds. Last year we fell US $2 million short of projections.

To keep rescuing, rehabilitating and finding homes for homeless animals, we need all the help we can get. For their sakes, will you please donate now? Click here: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

Thank you for caring for homeless, hurting animals who have no one else.
