Our Hearts Are Breaking

We’re heartbroken to let you know that our sweet Shaunie, who so many of you supported and cared about, has passed away.

Shaunie was a homeless dog found with two bullets in her back. Her “crime” was stealing away with chicken not intended for her because she was starving.

We did everything we could to save Shaunie, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for rallying to help her.

We hoped against hope we could save this unlucky dog, and turn her life around like we have done for so many before her. But the damage done by the bullets was just too severe. While they didn’t kill her immediately, they without a doubt caused her death.

We take comfort in the fact that Shaunie died with dignity – not cowering under a bush, and not in pain.

Without kind supporters like you, she would have had the worst possible ending in life…one she did nothing to deserve.

Instead, Shaunie died surrounded by love and compassion. It might have been the first time in her life she ever experienced those things.

We could not save Shaunie. But with your help, we can continue to rescue animals like her…animals who have no one else but compassionate people like you to care about them.

Around 1,100 formerly homeless animals at Soi Dog Foundation are thriving today because of you, our supporters. Like us, you believe these innocent animals deserve so much better than the misery of homelessness.

Rest in peace, Shaunie. We will never forget you.
