A kooky girl with an equally kooky outlook on life – that’s me, Nilada. I like to look at the world from upside down (quite literally, because I’m often lying on my back, seeking belly rubs from the nearest available human!)

Soi Dog took me in after finding me in an unsafe area playing a dangerous game of “chase the motorbike”. To an outsider, I might have seemed like a scary street dog looking for trouble, but in reality I was vulnerable, alone and fearful of anyone who came close. Life was tough for me on the streets, and I was desperate for a way out.

Now that I’m safe at Soi Dog, my true personality has really begun to shine. You’d barely recognise the Nilada that entered through those shelter gates back in August 2019. These days I’m a confident, sociable girl who takes life by the tail and seizes every moment.

And human company no longer frightens me. In fact, I relish it! I love spending time with the volunteers who take me for daily walks in the sunshine. When the heat gets too much, I dig a little pit in the cool dirt and then splash around in my water bowl. You see, despite everything I’ve been through, I never lost my playful, fun-loving edge.

It feels like things are finally falling into place for me, but there’s still one giant piece of the puzzle missing: a family and a home to call my own. Will you be the one to complete me?
