The Raw Deal – A Rabbit Treat For Everyone
Tweet |
Pole and Cleo have been getting rather picky lately, so I knew it was time for a change and a treat for them.
They always have this eating “pattern”, I know.
So, I got them some Coco & Joe’s barf and recently, they launched their all-new Rabbit Recipe.
I know, I know, we are talking about bunnies here, and it took me a long, long time before I could get down to feeding them rabbit. But that’s how Nature intended it to be – cats in the wild eat rodents (that would be mice and rabbits) and birds.

In any case, rabbit or chicken – I cannot be a hypocrite. Cats are obligate carnivores and that’s a fact – they need to eat meat. And the most biologically-appropriate type of meat, if possible.
And this was the main reason why I had to consider feeding rabbit – it was for Indy: http://savingcatsdogsandcash.com/how-i-cured-my-cats-diarrhea/. Julien’s case was very similar to Indy’s. Even until today, I have narrowed down Indy’s “solution” to two:
(1) It was a prolonged detoxification from being a former kibble-king to a 100% raw food eater.
(2) It was food intolerance (being too long on chicken) and he needed protein rotation.
Anyway, surprisingly, it wasn’t just Pole and Cleo who liked Coco & Joe’s Rabbit Recipe. Cow (my biggest surprise), Indy, Tabs and of course, Ginger, like it too! So, everyone had a rabbit treat!
Only Heidi and Bunny weren’t interested. Funny, though, because Heidi and Bunny love Cubgrub’s Rabbit!
Cats!! They even choose the recipes they like!
Aren’t we slaves?
It’s almost akin to humans choosing their preferred restaurants or chefs, isn’t it?
