It was 15 years ago, on a day like today, when tragedy struck.
The Asian Tsunami of 2004 is considered one of the deadliest natural disasters ever recorded which claimed the lives of
over 227,000 people and affected 14 different countries which were surrounded by the Indian Ocean.
Whilst the impact this event had on human lives lost is beyond comprehension, the number of animals who lost their lives will never be known nor was it every truly documented.
Here in Phuket, Soi Dog Foundation, has just been set up to help the suffering dogs on the island, when our founders battling their own personal losses, were pushed to their ultimate test, with the call to help the animals who were stranded and left with no shelter nor food after the Tsunami.
Today, we wanted to take a moment to remember everyone who lost their lives to the Indian Ocean Tsunami of 2004, our human friends as well as our animal friends.
Thank You to everyone from all over the world, who came to their aid when they needed you the most.
