Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post

Do you recognise this kitty? Lunglay is so much better – in happy contrast to weeks ago, when he was found injured, crouching and shaking in a spare tire compartment.

When the car’s owner returned, she found seven very excited dogs circling. Can you imagine how terrified this poor cat must have been?

The woman suspected they were after a cat. She found poor Lunglay and called us. In this season of giving, will you donate so we can always help cats like him? https://www.soidog.org/content/give-the-gift-of-life

Fortunately, we were able to save one of this 3-year-old’s nine lives that day. But from the look of him, Lunglay didn’t have many left.

He had a horrendous neck wound that hadn’t come from these dogs. It was older, and the surrounding tissue was starting to rot. He was also dehydrated, and his ears were filled with black wax that might have kept him from hearing the dogs and the animal who injured him as they approached.

In our shelter, Lunglay has been getting the medical care he needs, including regular treatment with a healing honey that’s done wonders for his wound, as you can see from the photos. He’s eating well and sleeping in a nice, soft bed.

Sadly, Lunglay tested positive for FIV, or the feline immunodeficiency virus. Thankfully, he tested negative for feline panleukopenia, a highly contagious viral disease, and FCV, the feline calicivirus, which gives cats affected miserable symptoms.

Our vets did a beautiful job with Lunglay’s wound reconstruction, as you can see in his “after” photos.

If not for the kindness of both the woman who found him and our supporters, Lunglay probably would not have survived. Just like countless homeless Thai animals who suffer and die every day because they have no one to care about or help them.

With 1,100 animals in our care, we need your help more than ever. Please join our Emergency Response Team or donate a kind one-off gift to help us always be ready to rescue desperate homeless animals. https://www.soidog.org/content/give-the-gift-of-life

Thank you for caring about animals like Lunglay – in the festive season and all year long!
