The Raw Deal – It’s A Duck Deal!!
Believe it or not!!
As of today, except for Cow Mau, everyone eats Cubgrub Duck!!
I was so surprised! Even Tabs and Heidi ate Duck today!!
I cannot…I just cannot eat this….It doesn’t smell like food at all.
It’s perfectly okay, Cow. No worries!! You’ll get chicken and turkey.
So, as for protein rotation, we now have the following:
Cow: Chicken, Turkey
Bunny: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Quail, Rabbit
Indy: Chicken, Duck, Rabbit, Turkey
Pole: Chicken, Duck, Turkey
Cleo: Chicken, Duck, Turkey
Ginger: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Quail, Rabbit
Tabs: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Rabbit
Heidi: Chicken, Turkey, Duck, Rabbit
Wow!! I cannot believe I managed to do protein rotation as well, in such a short time!
Duck would be good for all of them as they are considered geriatric cats and duck has lower phosphate.
The raw food I use are from Cubgrub and Primal.

Primal (Turkey, Chicken & Salmon): https://primalpetfoods.com/
I now remember what Dr Karen Becker said about transitioning any dog or cat to raw food. Some may take as long as one year to transition – it takes a lot of patience to do it. If I may paraphrase the doctor, it was something like this: In one year, your pet can be older or healthier. The choice is yours.
I thought I would take one year to transition them, especially for the finicky ones like Indy, Ginger and especially Heidi. But Heidi only took one month. Indy still acts up every now and then, but since he is so tough, I do take the “tough love” pathway with him – “Don’t want to eat? Ok, never mind.” But I make sure nobody skips more than 2 meals. They WILL eat something in a 24 hour period. Actually, at most, they would only skip one meal.
Nowadays, almost nobody skips a meal anymore! Unless Ginger goes on a hunger strike to ask for his exotic meats!!
