Meet Jayju. A kind woman found her with her mother and five siblings living under a coconut tree. One pup died, but thanks to supporters, we were able to rescue Jayju and the others.

Sadly, this 7-week-old had developed an awful, but common, problem for homeless Thai animals. Jayju had gotten her tail injured somehow, and maggots had eaten down to the bone. The remaining tissue died and fell off, leaving her with no tail.

Please help Jayju and pups like her. https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

Members of our vet staff painstakingly removed the maggots from Jayju’s tail and used a healing type of honey from New Zealand – our go-to – to treat her. along with antibiotics.

Jayju is being looked after by highly experienced fosters and getting all the love and care she needs, including spay surgery when she’s old enough.

The little girl doesn’t weigh even a kilo (around 2 pounds) yet, but she’s a heavyweight when it comes to being a spirited survivor! She loves playing with staff, and will be well looked after as long as needed.

Of course, she’s so adorable, she already has kind people interested in adopting her. And her equally precious siblings will also likely be adopted quickly to homes our staff will fully vet and preapprove.

To prevent the possibility of this situation ever happening again, the puppies’ mother will be spayed.

Thanks to animal lovers like you, this family of dogs will survive and thrive. We hate to think what might have happened if not for kind, generous people who believe animals deserve much better than suffering and homelessness.

Happy endings for puppies are the best! But the truth is, we have around 1,100 animals in our shelter and hospital at any given time. It is expensive to rescue, treat, shelter and feed this many animals.

We worry about a day when might have to do the unthinkable – turn away a desperate dog or cat for lack of funding.

Will you donate now so we can always say, “Yes, of course we will help!” to animals with no one else to care for them?
