Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post

This adorable boy’s name is Actor. Perhaps our staff who named him fancied his dashing good looks and thought, here’s a dog who belongs in pictures!

But this 5-year-old, who looks so joyful today, was anything but happy just weeks ago. We found Actor wandering around a gas station with a rubber band wrapped tightly around his muzzle.

Apparently, his not-so-loving owner wanted some peace and quiet. Please help poor, abused creatures like Actor. Click here: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

Sadly, vicious cruelty like this is not as uncommon as you’d like to think. Even one case is far too many.

Actor is safe with us now and getting the treatment he needs and deserves. His wound is healing, and so is his spirit.

Fortunately, we discovered him in time – his wound was serious, but no bone had been exposed.

Our vet staff has been treating Actor’s wound with wonderful Manuka honey from New Zealand. It has been a go-to of ours for years, and has worked miracles on the wounds of hundreds, if not thousands, of animals who have come and gone at Soi Dog.

Actor is also getting basic treatment all dogs need, including vaccinations.

We say it a lot, simply because it’s true: We could not have helped this precious boy without support from compassionate animal lovers like you.

But the truth is, our shelter and hospital are always full, or close to it. We work hard to stay ahead of the tremendous need, but we worry about a day when we might have to turn away a desperate animal for lack of funds.

We care for around 1,100 dogs and cats at any given time. It’s a labour of love, of course, but it’s also quite expensive.

Will you help us continue to rescue animals like Actor? No animal deserves what he experienced, and there are countless more out there like him. Thank you! Click here to join our Emergency Response Team or to make a one-off gift: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert
