Imagine you’re a dog whose human stops caring, and heartlessly abandons you in a deserted place near the ocean.

When you’re thirsty, you can only find sea water to drink. But it gives no relief, and the salt dehydrates you. And with no access to food, you grow painfully thin.

Someone used to care about you. But now, you are alone and suffering. This is the story of our Seabra. Please give now: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert

Seabra was homeless, unloved, miserable…and sadly, one of countless other dogs like himself in Thailand.

But one day, an animal lover happened to notice this forlorn, skinny boy drinking from the sea. It broke his heart.

The man immediately got dog food and drinkable water for Seabra. Then he called us. Two of our staff members went and collected him right away.

Thanks to our generous supporters and this kindhearted human, 3-year-old Seabra is now safe and getting the help he urgently needs.

He’s one of the newest faces at Soi Dog, home to 1,100 rescued animals at any given time. We know we must help as many as we can, but we’re near our limit.

It was a good thing this wonderful man noticed Seabra when he did: The unlucky pup had somehow gotten a fishhook lodged in his head.

We’ll never know how it got there or how long it had been twisting its way into Seabra’s flesh. It must have been pure torture for the poor boy.

First, our vets removed the the hook, then addressed Seabra’s severe dehydration. Drinking sea water for so long had pushed it to 7 percent – well on the way to organ failure and death. He was also infested with ticks.

With every rescue, there’s elation: Another lovely dog or cat will get the life they deserve, thanks to our supporters.

Then comes the worry. We’re always operating around capacity. What if we reach the point we don’t have the funds to keep saving desperate animals?

With the support of enough animal lovers like you, we hope against hope that day will never come. But it’s always on our minds.

Please, will you join the Emergency Response Team now with a monthly pledge? A one-off gift will also make a real difference.

Thank you for caring about animals who have no one. Click here to give: https://emergency.soidog.org/ert
