As a temple dog, Samrat was a little more fortunate than a homeless one. She at least received some feeding and care from kind, well-meaning monks.

But sadly, this wasn’t enough to keep this girl from getting caught in a cruel person’s trap and sustaining a horribly painful, disfiguring leg injury.

Like many injured temple dogs, she ended up with us at Soi Dog. Please help us keep rescuing desperate animals like her. https://bit.ly/save_desperate_dogs

We offer free care for temple dogs. Monks can’t afford vet bills.

We can only do this thanks to the generous animal lovers who donate to us. Otherwise, Samrat would almost surely have had nowhere else to go.

We love to tell our supporters about all the good you do. It feels great. But the truth is, we worry. A lot. We are almost always operating at capacity.

Right now around 1,100 animals depend on us for care, food and shelter. People here in Phuket know they can depend on us to help when an animal is in trouble.

We don’t want to say no, ever. But we worry that some not-too-distant day, we might be forced to turn away an animal or animals who have nowhere else to go.

Two-year-old Samrat got the care she needed because of compassionate animal lovers like you. Unfortunately, this meant we had to amputate her left hind leg to free her from terrible pain.

Although her leg couldn’t be saved, she will most likely thrive, like the many tripods who’ve come through our doors. They get around great on three legs once they’ve adapted.

Samrat has also received other care she needed, such as a spay surgery.

None of this could have happened for Samrat if not for the support of people who believe every animal deserves love and care.

Animals here in Phuket, Thailand, are depending on us every minute of every day. Can we depend on you to join our Emergency Response Team with a monthly pledge that’s affordable for you, or to make a one-off donation? https://bit.ly/save_desperate_dogs

Thank you for caring about homeless, hurting dogs and cats who deserve so much better.
