Poor Lesso. It’s hard enough being a homeless pup in Phuket, Thailand…trying to find enough food to eat, defending your territory from other dogs, sleeping safely out of the rain…without the added worry of getting injured and dealing with the inevitable: maggots feasting on your wound.

But that’s what happened to this unlucky 4-year-old boy, and happens to countless animals in this tropical climate. But you can help. First, click on https://bit.ly/saving_lesso. Then join the Emergency Response Team by pledging a monthly donation that’s affordable for you.

Or if you prefer, you could make a one-off gift. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated, and do a world of good for the approximately 1,100 animals in our care at any given time. For instance, with just $3 US/3 EUR, we can fully vaccinate one animal, who never has to get sick because of that gift.

Thanks to the kind animal lovers who donate to the Emergency Response Team, Lesso has been getting the urgent care he needs for his poor paw. Unfortunately, one digit (like a finger on a human) is in such bad shape, it will have to be surgically removed.

But as you no doubt know, dogs are resilient. You’ve probably seen pups who’ve lost a leg who get along without missing a beat. Lesso’s foot is fully intact, and he will likely be able to walk fine after surgery.

He’s also now free of the ticks that had been tormenting him for who knows how long, and is being treated for a hernia. He’s eating well and sleeping soundly and comfortably.

This boy is one of the lucky ones. He’s been through a lot, but since he’s been rescued, he has hope for a great future. But tragically, there are too many like him still out there, suffering and needing someone to notice and to care enough to take action.

When we get a call from a kind animal lover, or when one of our animal rescue officers finds a suffering animal, we want to be able to take that animal in and care for it, just like we did Lesso. We never want to have to turn one away.

But we can’t keep saving desperate animals without the wonderful support of animal lovers like you. People who believe no dog or cat deserves to live in misery simply because they didn’t have the good fortune to be born into a loving home.

Will you join our Emergency Response Team now and help us always be ready to rescue animals in urgent need? Thank you. Click here to join: https://bit.ly/saving_lesso
