Homeless and likely abandoned, with no kind owner to look out for her, beautiful Bootsie was found wandering near a water treatment plant with a horrible wound on her left front leg.

We were able to rescue this sweet 2-year-old thanks to the support of kind animal lovers like you. If you haven’t already, would you consider joining our Emergency Response Team? Click here to find out more and to join: https://bit.ly/saving_bootsie

Of course, your one-off donation is also very welcome and valued, and will do wonders for the homeless dogs and cats we rescue. At any given time, we have around 1,100 in our care. These animals depend on us completely.

There are countless other homeless animals in Phuket who could fall victim to illness, injury or cruelty at any moment. We want to always be able to help them, but cannot do this without the support of people who care so deeply about these poor animals – namely, people like you.

Bootsie was rescued along with another dog named Boogie, whom we told you about in a previous post. Bootsie seems to be smiling in her photos, but undoubtedly was panting to calm herself and to help control the terrible pain she was in.

Bootsie is safe at the Soi Dog shelter now, where she’s receiving the care she needs – and of course, loads of love. She has been suffering from mild depression and dehydration, which our vets are treating.

Happily, it looks like they will probably be able to save Bootsie’s damaged leg. She can walk on it, although with some pain, which our vets will monitor and treat.

Her friend Boogie was not as fortunate. Her leg was so damaged, with so much necrotic (or rotting) tissue, that it could not be saved and our vets had to amputate it.

It is likely Bootsie and Boogie were victims of cruelty, our vets determined after looking at their wound patterns. These poor dogs probably had ropes tied around their legs for a long time. They were probably owned, but not treated very well, and were simply dumped where they were found wandering.

But thanks to compassionate people like you, Bootsie and Boogie won’t ever have to return to their horrible former situation.

Bootsie is one of the lucky ones. There are still countless homeless animals on the streets of Phuket, Thailand, who will need help when trouble inevitably befalls them. There is no government help for these poor animals – only the kindness of people like you, who believe they deserve so much better.

Will you please join our Emergency Response Team now and pledge to help animals like Bootsie with a monthly gift of whatever you can afford? Click here: https://bit.ly/saving_bootsie

If you can’t commit to a monthly gift, we are grateful for any support you feel comfortable providing. Thank you so much for caring about the animals who, without people like you, have no one to care. https://bit.ly/saving_bootsie
