And When The Clock Struck 12, It Happened!

Luckily I stayed up tonight.

At 5 minutes before 12midnight just now, Indy went out of the room and headed for the sandpit. I had been waiting all night for this to happen.

So I followed him with a torchlight.

He went to the sandpit, dug a hole and got into position.

I witnessed it all – first, it was watery, then followed by some stools with some blood (not as much as yesterday’s). I scooped it up immediately before he could cover it and felt the texture with another scoop – it felt slightly firmer and not completely soft.

The watery stool is something new, but the “slightly firmer” texture is also a tiny sign of improvement, I hope?

I wish I could consult a stool expert!!

I’ve sent a photo of the stools to Indy’s vet and we will hear from her tomorrow afternoon.

Tomorrow will be a new day, Indy.

He pooped at 12 midnight, on the dot!

I searched through the blog for all the times when Indy was sick in the past to document a thorough medical history for the vet. Indy has had several gastrointestinal problems before in the past – it was either vomiting, not eating or blood-tinged loose stools. It has happened before. And his smaller right kidney was also identified when he was 3 years old. Even at that time, the vet said his right kidney was already dying. So, Indy has been living with one functioning kidney for 8 years now.

I’m glad I named him “Indy Jones” when I first rescued him from the drain with eye, ear and bladder infection.
