Photos From Soi Dog Foundation's Post

This is the continuing tale of three little kittens. They hadn’t lost their mittens…it was a much sadder story. They were found apparently abandoned in a rice field with the flu, their little eyes severely swollen and infected. One sadly didn’t make it, but two – a boy and a girl – did.

This post is about the little girl, Thungnar. But before you read about her, please consider helping kitties like her and her brother by joining our Care for Cats Club and giving regular support to felines in need. Just click here to join and give: https://bit.ly/yes_i_want_to_save_kittens.

Pledging whatever monthly gift you can afford will help kittens and cats in trouble, like these babies were. Or if you’d prefer to just make a one-time gift, it would also be very much appreciated.

In a stroke of incredible luck, Thungnar and her brother and sister were found by a woman on her way to Soi Dog Foundation to have her pet sterilised. She and her friend happened to spot the tiny kittens near our shelter and hospital as they drove by.

This kind animal lover told us about the poor kittens as soon as she arrived at our hospital. We quickly went and found them, and brought them in.

The babies were in heartbreaking shape. There was no sign of their mother. The kittens are fortunate this kind woman and her friend happened to see them, and that they didn’t drown in the watery rice field where they seem to have been heartlessly dumped.

Thungnar was diagnosed with the cat flu. It’s common and highly contagious in unvaccinated cats of all ages, but tends to be particularly severe in kittens.

She also had severely infected, swollen eyes. Our vets acted quickly, but sadly, she cannot see out of either eye anymore.

This poor baby girl was also understandably depressed. Her mum was gone, her human had dumped her and her brother and sister, and she and Thungyah were too young and small to be able to fend for themselves.

Thungnar and her brother are safe and sound at the Soi Dog shelter now. She is receiving treatment for her depression; the symptoms of her cat flu; diarrhoea and mild dehydration probably caused by it; a combination of dermatitis and a fungal infection; and hair loss – which her vet reports has improved. She has also been dewormed.

This precious kitten would not have been saved and given treatment without the wonderful animal lovers who give to our Cat for Cats Club. Will you join today and make more rescues like this possible? To join, click here: https://bit.ly/yes_i_want_to_save_kittens

Thank you!
