1109 days. That is how long Venaro has been waiting for someone to pick her. As each day passes and her run mates come and go into loving homes, her hope dwindles.

As another person failed to notice her, she had a bright idea! Venaro decided it was time to shine the light on Black Dog Syndrome and bring black dogs out of the shadows.

Many people unintentionally favour lighter-coloured dogs or dogs with unusual markings. The most common reasons are that black dogs don’t always stand out, they are hard to photograph, they are victim to breed stereotypes and have a negative portrayal in fiction.

Could you be guilty of Black Dog Syndrome? The bottom line isn’t whether a black dog will get adopted, but how long it will take.
