End The Suffering Of Stray Dogs And Cats

Poor Jitto, like countless homeless animals in tropical Phuket, Thailand, got himself injured somehow, and maggots took up residence in his wound. He was living near a dump and a fish vendor, with plenty of flies around, so he was much more likely than most to fall victim to this horrific fate.

We were only able to help this 1-year-old, barely out of puppyhood, because of compassionate animal lovers like you. Will you please click https://bit.ly/help_for_jitto and join the Emergency Response Team now?

Your kind monthly donation, no matter the amount, will help Soi Dog Foundation continue to rescue animals like Jitto.

If you don’t live in a tropical area like Phuket or know much about tropical climates, it can be hard to imagine how even a very small wound can become enormous and horrendous quickly due to maggots invading.

We don’t know what initially happened to poor Jitto. Anything and everything happens to homeless animals. He could have been bitten by another dog, or even gotten a simple scratch.

If only he could tell us. We’re just thankful he was found and could come to us before his wound got any bigger and more painful.

Because of animal lovers like you who give to the Emergency Response Team, or kindly make one-off donations whenever you’re able, Jitto has been able to get the help he’s desperately needed. There is no one else to care for animals like him. There is no government help available for them.

Jitto is safe now in our shelter. All his needs are being met, perhaps for the first time in his young life.

He is a shy boy, and was scared and somewhat aggressive. But our dedicated vets are quite experienced with aggressive animals and his type of injury. And they refuse to simply give up on any animal in need.

With our supporters’ generous help, they have been able to help thousands of animals like Jitto survive and eventually thrive.

Jitto has been receiving pain relief and treatment for mild anemia, in addition to the wound care gently and efficiently performed on him. His wound has now been expertly reconstructed, and is healing nicely.

He’s also receiving antibiotics to ensure the infection is completely gone, and medicine to make him calmer and more comfortable as he heals.

His wound has also been regularly treated with a type of honey that has worked wonders for thousands of animals who’ve come through Soi Dog’s hospital doors since 2003.

When he’s improved enough, Jitto will be fully vaccinated. This costs a little less than $3 US/3 EUR.

So you see, even the smallest gifts really do help the approximately 1,100 animals in our care at any given time. Even that small amount means one lucky animal never has to get sick. It’s actually a very big thing!

Sadly, for every dog like Jitto found and rescued, countless others are still out there languishing, with no one to care. We collect many every week, and need your help to keep rescuing them.

These poor animals don’t deserve to suffer just because they are homeless. We know you love all animals, and want to help however you can. Will you please give now? http://bit.ly/help_for_jitto

Thank you!
