Let The Poo Speak!

I’ve now become a poo-scrutiniser.
Indeed, the poo is an indicator of our health and more so for Indy.
So, what does his poo tell us today?
Since yesterday, Indy didn’t want to eat Cubgrub anymore. He only wanted his raw chicken fillet. I give him what he wants because he probably has some tummy upset and he knows what he can eat and what he cannot.
I’ve been giving him medium-sized pieces so that he can chew.
This morning, he ate a lot of it and very fast too. Okay, a good appetite is always a blessing.
Of course Ginger wants whatever Indy has. But that would be another story later.
Either Indy ate too fast (he practically finished eating 37g of raw chicken in less than one minute), the pieces were too big or he has some tummy upset today, because after about twenty minutes, he vomited everything out. I think since yesterday when he had the runny stools, his tummy has not been too good. I have learnt to read the signs by now.
But he didn’t appear to be sick in any way. He was still as active as ever. Hopefully, it’s just one of those random vomiting episode that happens once in a while and not related to the loose stool problem.
This is the poo I discovered at 6am today:
Mr Poo, please tell me your story.
Well, it’s still soft but not runny like the previous one. I couldn’t see any blood tinge in it. So, let’s just be thankful for this.
I’m not a vet or a poo expert, so I’ll just try to interpret this in my own way. Indy ate his usual amount yesterday and if he only produced this single stool, I hope it means much of the food has been absorbed. Previously, he produced a bigger volume of stool than this.
Let’s be optimistic about this.
After the vomiting, Indy went to eat serai.
After an hour, I gave him a tablespoon of raw chicken and he ate that up. He was able to retain it all without vomiting. And after another hour, he started asking for food from the kitchen window sill. I think he feels better now, so I gave him another tablespoon of raw chicken. In these two rounds, I cut the raw fillet into very thin pieces. He still guzzled everything down without chewing, of course. And he asked for more, but no, we will only have small meals for now.
He’s still as active as ever, so he had a trip out to the patio.
Ginger smacked Indy, but being the gentleman that he is, Indy did not hit back. Instead, Indy went away.
Come back, Indy, come back…I was just playing….
For those of you who have been following Indy’s stool story closely, you’d remember that yesterday, there was a piece of very well formed stool near Indy’s spot and I erroneously thought it was Indy’s.
Well, today, there was another such piece again (exactly the same type) but this one was on the mat in the room, right in front of me.
Now, whose poo is this?? Nobody poops on the mat.
I think someone is trying to cheer me up by showing me healthy, normal, well-formed poo.
It’s a mystery.
Maybe it’s Cow since he is the most sensitive cat we have. I think all the cats know that I’ve been checking the sandpit dozens of times each day so one of them thought he or she would save me the trouble.
It must be Cow.
Can I have more food?
Not yet, Indy. One tablespoon at a time.
