Gopi had been patiently waiting for almost a year for someone to change her life and it is obvious the wait was well worth it! This sweet girl arrived at our shelter last November with 6 newborn puppies. The street is no place for a new mum and her babies but luckily she was rescued and given a safe place to nurse and care for them, until they grew bigger and stronger. It didn’t take long for them to find a loving home but Gopi was left desperately waiting for someone to give her the same chance… until Rosie came along.

When Rosie came to the shelter to volunteer, she instantly fell in love with Gopi and it was clear they were meant to be. Unfortunately, she was unable to take her straight home as Gopi was found positive for Heartworm. It was touch and go for some time as to when Gopi would be able to fly, but although months passed, Rosie and Gopi’s bond remained strong. Finally, Gopi got the news we had all been waiting for; she was free of Heartworm and able to make the epic journey to the UK.

Last month, she was happily reunited with her mum and they are now living their best lives together.

“I honestly cannot believe how much Gopi has changed my life. She has been so perfect in every way. Each day she changes and grows in confidence. She has even found some new loves in life including digestive biscuits and toys…that squeak no less!

I had to wait a while to get Gopi here but its true when they say ‘it was worth the wait’, I could not imagine my life without her.”
