Soi Dog Foundation turned 16 this month!🎂

An idea that started as a personal mission for 3 ordinary human beings to help the street animals suffering needlessly is now, South-East Asia’s largest animal welfare organization dedicated to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable street dogs and cats.

How do you summarise a 16 year old life, that had reached multiple milestones in such a short span of time, that seems impossible to many?

Here are just 16 to kick it off:

🐾Over 350,000 animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies, all around Thailand

🐾Over 87,000 sterilisations so far in 2019 and that is more, currently, than any other organisation in the world

🐾 Co-founder, late Gill Dalley was awarded the Asian of the Year in 2009 by CNA Singapore – the first non-Asian by birth to be named for this award and in May 2011 she was named the Asia Pacific region’s first canine hero at the Asia Animals conference.

🐾Over 150,000 animals spayed/neutered and vaccinated in Thailand’s capital Bangkok alone

🐾Reducing a stray dog population of 70,000 to less than 7,000 in Phuket over the last 16 years

🐾Over 16,000 dogs rescued from the illegal Dog Meat Trade in Thailand

🐾Instrumental in bringing an end to Dog (and Cat) Meat Trade in Thailand as well as drafting of the first ever Animal Welfare Act in Thailand

🐾Only one isolated incident of rabies has been recorded in Phuket in the last 24 years thanks to immunisation efforts by Soi Dog Foundation (compared to 400 confirmed cases of rabies in the year 2018 in the rest of Thailand)

🐾State-of-the-art dog and cat hospitals, the largest in S.E.Asia dedicated solely to the treatment of stray animals with over 3000 animals treated so far this year.

🐾Registered non-profit organisation in 8 different countries around the world

🐾Over 5,000 animals found their happy forever homes

🐾First responders in emergency situations like 2004 Asian tsunami, 2011 Bangkok floods, 2017/18 Bangkok floods, 2018 Nakhon Phanom crisis

🐾Education and Community Outreach programmes implemented in Thailand helping to educate and spread awareness

🐾We are #4 of Things To do in Phuket, Thailand on Trip Advisor

🐾 Caring for over 1000 animals on a daily basis

🐾 3000+ volunteers have walked through Soi Dog Foundation gates and helped to socialise hundreds of dogs and cats over the last 4 years

And none of this and MORE would have ever been possible without YOU.

THANK YOU for 16 years of love, support, prayers and faith that a small group of people can change the world for those who have no voice.
