The Loose Stools Came Back
Tweet |
As expected, the loose stools came back.
We came back from taiji and there it was – loose stools on Indy’s poop-spot.
It so happened too that Indy’s vet was online, so we discussed his case and I showed her the photo of his latest poop.
The vet suspects that there is already bacterial overgrowth in the gut. She says if the stools are still runny tomorrow, we should start on the Metronidazole already. This antibiotic is metabolised mostly by the liver, so I shouldn’t have to worry too much about it taxing on Indy’s kidneys.
The S.Boulardii will continue, of course. The vet explained that in this kind of chronic diarrhoea, probiotic can be secondary supportive treatment but it might not work as the first line treatment.
We have to do something about the bacterial overgrowth or this loose stool problem is going to go on and on. We’ve tried so many things and none of them seem to provide a solution.
Indy still has very good appetite and has become somewhat of a bully now.
We shall wait for tomorrow.
