Indy’s Reward – A Trip To The Patio
Tweet |
Indy has been REALLY good, especially to me.
He didn’t like the ID, but after I explained that he needed it, he started eating it. Now, it seems that he actually likes it. Then, he didn’t like the Slippery Elm at all, but again, after he realised I was pinning my hopes on it working, he started eating it too when I mixed it with some ID. He did sniff at it and looked at me, as though saying, “But it has a funny smell….” but after explaining to him, he dutifully and obediently ate it.
I know how much he loves Cubgrub, but since starting on this treatment regimen, I had to restrict his diet. He probably knows this again, so in order for me not to feel bad, he created his special dining place at the window sill so that I can feed him his ID, then when the rest of them eat Cubgrub, he doesn’t come anymore. He just walks away and minds his own business although I KNOW how he wished he could have some Cubgrub too. He knows that if he comes to join the rest, it would make me feel really sad that I have to restrict his diet. Initially, for the first few days, he did this and yes, I felt really sad. He knows this. Cats are mind readers.
Indy actually has very good appetite, but during this treatment, I needed to restrict his food to smaller meals. Again, he knows this and although he waits at the window sill hoping for more food, I have to tell him, “No more for now, Indy. I’ll give you some later…” and he understands. It does break my heart that I have had to restrict and deprive him in so many ways and I can only hope Indy understands that I’m doing everything with good intentions.
He has been SO good.
How I wish I could resolve this problem quickly and everything could go back to normalcy, but it looks like a chronic problem which may require weeks.
And Indy is so cooperative and understanding.
Ginger has been the direct opposite. He has been acting up and has been very demanding. He refuses to eat, but it’s not because he has no appetite, he probably wants very tasty food. So, I have resorted to force-feeding him just so that I can feed him his antibiotics. He whines all over the house asking to go out. He tries to sneak out whenever anyone opens the door.
So, to reward Indy’s good behaviour, Indy had a trip out to the patio today.
He took the best seat at the patio!
Cow came out with Indy too.
Tabs has diplomatic immunity everywhere in the house, so she is welcome everywhere and by everyone.
I know Indy needs some greens. We’ve already bought him wheatgrass but I think he prefers serai.
Ginger, if only you could be half as good as Indy…
Indy had a good patio trip. We might make this a daily affair as a reward for him.
