Cleo And Pole’s Check-Up
Tweet |
Today was Cleo and Pole’s check-up after 6 weeks.
Cleo has been quite stressed during the twice-weekly subcut sessions, so I was really hoping she wouldn’t need it anymore after this.
As usual, Cleo mewed all the way in the car, at the clinic and during her check-up. The vet suspect she might be hyperthyroid too, so this was checked as well.
Thankfully, Cleo is NOT hyperthyroid and also, her creatinine level has come down from the previous 213 to 165 today (yes, subcut works!). Her SDMA was 10 today. Based on these results, Cleo’s subcut can be reduced to once a week now (that is a relief, because giving her subcut is still very challenging).
Pole had her blood checked as well as her blood pressure (which turned out normal). Her blood test shows that her TT4 reading has come down a lot (from 111 to 20, which is very encouraging). This means she responded well to the transdermal medication. Her liver readings also came back down to normal which means there is no excess pressure on the liver now. However, her creatinine and urea went up a bit. To address this, her subcut fluids will be increased to 3 times a week (still 150ml because she is only about 2.7kg).
Pole will continue her hyperthyroid medication on the long term. It is usually given for life.
A new version of “the leg” pose!
