Ginger’s Persistent Whining

Ginger has been whining continuously for hours and this has been happening for many weeks now. There’s just so much we can do to distract him. He can whine for hours on end, walking back and forth at the patio or in the house.

We finally figured out what he wants – he wants to go out.

Whenever Heidi goes to the park, he gets very excited and rushes to Stargate2 to watch the entire event.

Why does Heidi get to go out but not me?  

Sometime last week, he escaped one night and had a great time outside. We managed to get him back.

Two days ago, he whined so badly until I had to let him go out. So I opened Stargate2 and told him he could go out.

He did.

After half an hour, he came back to Stargate2 and waited. When I went to him, he hissed at me.

I don’t know what the hiss meant, but I opened Stargate2 and invited him back into the house.

That day, the whining decreased significantly.

Yesterday, when Heidi went to the park, Ginger rushed out too, so I let him out. After that, I had to go to work. He was nowhere to be seen.

When I came home from work, he was happily sitting in our porch. So I opened the door, and he came in willingly.

The all-day whining decreased too.

Maybe he just needs to go out for a little while each day?

Sometimes, he whines until he gets frustrated and he will take it out on poor Tabs. Or, he sprays on our cushions.

Now he is whining again.
