This morning our #Freshwater team in #SetiuWetlands released 54 #paintedterrapins hatchlings into the river.

This freshwater #turtle species will swim to beaches to lay their eggs, but their main habitats are rivers and estuaries.
.
.
The hatchlings are only two day old, but they could crawl so quickly on land and then headed straight towards the water purely by instinct!

This little one decided to hang out on a tree trunk for a little while – hope it’s not getting cold feet! 😂
