URGENT! HEAVY RAIN RESUMES IN FLOODED UBON PROVINCE, THAILAND. THOUSANDS OF DISPLACED ANIMALS NEED YOU. DONATE NOW TO SAVE THEM!

After a few dry days saw high waters begin to recede and high hopes build for an end to ongoing record flooding, forecast heavy rains have restarted in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand.
And so we must once again ask our wonderful supporters for your help for the poor animals of Ubon.

Tragically, heavy rain resuming means this already severe flood emergency will be ongoing. We have no way of knowing when this record flooding will end and people and pets can safely return home. The traditional rainy season won’t be over for several weeks yet.
WIth all our hearts, we thank our generous supporters, who are currently helping us feed thousands of dogs and cats displaced or stranded by flood waters. The area has been deluged by monsoon rains for weeks now, causing the Mun River to overflow its banks.
This flood event, unseen in almost 20 years, has displaced close to half a million people and thousands of animals.
Many of the displaced animals are precious pets families heartbreakingly had to leave behind as they escaped to shelters with only their lives and the clothes on their backs, as well as animals already living on the streets.
So far, our amazing supporters have helped us get 11 tonnes of dog and cat food to the desperate animals of Ubon, a province 600 kilometres from the capital, Bangkok. It will feed thousands of animals being held temporarily in temples and shelters until they can be reunited with their owners, or can safely return to the streets.
Our supporters are also helping provide food and shelter to many homeless animals stranded in an open area completely cut off by flooding. We have commissioned temporary shelters to be built, which are slated to be delivered by boats this weekend to provide stranded animals with desperately needed protection from both rain and sun until the floods recede.
We are also sending a medical team to help any sick or wounded animals and to vaccinate and spay and neuter dogs and cats as needed.
These traumatised animals need you now more than ever. Will you help us help them? As this emergency continues to develop and potentially worsen, please help us make sure these poor animals don’t go hungry and can be safe from the harsh elements.

The Thai Livestock Department have told us it is currently impossible for them to reach the animals in the cutoff area described above to provide food and medical care, as they have no suitable boat available.
As heavy rains continue to fall and flood waters swell ever higher and wider, reaching these poor, frightened, hungry and possibly hurt animals with traditional rowboats locals can provide will become impossible.
We desperately need donations now so we can obtain a suitable boat or boats to reach these gravely endangered dogs and cats. Please help us help them. https://www.soidog.org/content/ubon-ratchathani-floods-2019
RIght now, thousands of Ubon’s animals are at risk of starving or drowning. These are people’s beloved pets, and also strays our supporters have always come through for in the past, time after time. Will you please do so once more, now? Their lives are on the line.
