Remember Kassie, the homeless mama dog who needed our help delivering her puppies? The poor girl had struggled for almost three days before a compassionate person noticed her agony and contacted us. She’s now safe at our shelter and improving daily. And the puppies are thriving!

Will you give now at https://bit.ly/SaveKassieAndPups so more homeless animals like Kassie can get the happy endings they deserve? If not for our wonderful supporters, 1-year-old Kassie’s story almost certainly would have ended tragically.

We rushed to get Kassie to our hospital, but after spending three days in obstructed labor, her uterus had dropped so far it had to be removed, and the puppies gently extracted from her placenta by hand.

A few weeks on, Mum is improving, but her recovery has been slower and more complicated than we’d hoped. That’s understandable – after all, she’s getting over major surgery. She’s finally beginning to eat well after a lengthy spell of vomiting after meals. Her depleted, exhausted body isn’t making milk for the babies, so our vets are giving her medicine to help her start producing some.

Kassie is also understandably unsettled, having been through such a traumatic experience, and being in an unfamiliar place. She’s being medicated for her anxiety, as well as for moderate anaemia and a blood clotting disorder. An abscess found on her shoulder was drained and is healing properly. The stitches from her hysterectomy have been removed, and the wound is healing well.

Because Kassie had such a very rough time, and isn’t producing milk yet, she isn’t able to nurse her babies. We have an expert puppy carer looking after them.

And that brings us to the happiest part of this post – a pup-date, if you will! It turns out there were seven little survivors of Kassie’s ordeal – Koduch, Kallyn, Komand, Konado, Kirana, Kommon and Korunto. We hope you enjoy the photos of these precious little boys and girls we affectionately call “The K-Pups.”

Animal lovers like you saved Kassie and her babies. They’ll have much better lives now thanks to you. But tragically, thousands of homeless animals in Thailand still face a world of dangers every day. They could become ill, or get injured, abused by humans, hit by cars or attacked by other animals.

Will you help us be ready to care for these vulnerable, homeless dogs and cats, like you were there for Kassie and her babies? https://bit.ly/SaveKassieAndPups

Thank you for your compassion for animals who have no one else to care.
