Phew! Talk about shell shock…

Queen B is our superhero and heroine of her own kind, the giant Asian pond turtle, non-native to #Singapore.

The condition and contortions of her old shell wounds stunned us all.

Clearly, her battle scars hide a painful and traumatic story that she suffered, aside from longhaul horrifics that victims of the illegal pet trade endure.

Thankfully, Queen B’s internal organs and locomotion hadn’t been affected by the mysterious trauma and her shell had healed over.

Fast forward to present day, as Dr. Venisri gives her a once-over before she leaves for her motherland tomorrow, we urge you to keep Queen B’s story in mind and say No to the illegal wildlife trade.
