Together possible! Yes, that was the spirit and collaboration shown by villagers and representatives from government agencies in Tanjung Manis District who came to support WWF-Malaysia’s beach clean-up effort in Belawai recently. Belawai is habitat to Irrawaddy dolphins, hence it is important to keep rubbish at bay. The Pandas from Sarawak Conservation Programme teamed up with 60 people to pick up rubbish that are washed ashore along Belawai beach, and littered by public and visitors. For just a stretch of about 500m, they collected 419.70kg of rubbish – mainly plastics.
