Karista was barely more than a pup herself at age 1 and was struggling to cope. The poor, anxious girl was panting heavily, had a high fever, and was weak as water from low iron. Though she was barely able to stand, this lovely mum was still trying valiantly to nurse pups Kallista, Kalika, Karissa, Karessa and Karpos.

Thanks to the generosity of animal lovers like you, Karista and her babies are now safe. The brave young mama dog is getting needed care, including iron supplements. The pups are being hand-fed three times a day so Mum can relax and heal. Once they’re weaned, she can begin antibiotics for a likely infection.
