Kak Ina is a member of Sahabat Alam Sekitar Setiu (Sahabat Setiu), a community-based organisation in Setiu that does environmental conservation and uses mangrove resources to produce homemade products.

In this video Kak Ina is weaving a basket made from Nypa, a mangrove palm. The basket is called “lekar”, which traditionally was used to put a hot pot or wok in to protect the kitchen surface. Sahabat Setiu also sells other homemade products such as “rempeyek”, which are crisps made using deep-fried thin batter sprinkled with anchovies and peanuts; and also “budu”, a fermented sauce made of anchovies.
