Our next stop, after the Kuchai Lama rescue, was to take Jackie “home”. “Home” is Yi Lin’s house, where she and her family would foster Jackie for a few weeks while we look for an adopter for her.
Ainey holding Jackie at the clinic.
Jackie exploring Yi Lin’s house while their dog, Chief, looks on.
The shaven part is due to her being spayed. Our vet uses the flank method (sideways).
Mandy and me, with Jackie. She would come and nudge at our legs for affection. She is a very sweet dog.
Hey Chelsea! Chelsea’s been adopted by Yi Lin now. Jackie even went to touch noses with Chelsea. I missed that shot!
Jackie digging soil. It must be so nice to stretch and dig earth after one month of being caged at two different clinics.
Hmm…what’s this? Jackie is blind, so she uses her sense of smell and hearing to get around.
I still prefer to dig soil…
Jackie is a blind dog. But she is alert and very good-natured. She would make a good companion for someone who wants a quiet dog. She is most suitable for apartment-dwellers because she would do very well in a confined space, just enough for her to move around comfortably. She will learn her space very quickly using her sense of smell and hearing. Blind dogs do very well in apartments because they would be very safe.
Jackie is up for adoption.
Her adopter would have to clean her innucleated eye every day, with a damp cotton wool as there would be daily discharge from the glands, and put eyedrops in her “good eye” (which is also blind).
If you are interested to adopt Jackie and give her a loving home, please contact me.
Jackie is one of our Klang Dog Pound survivors.
Please help us look for an adopter for her.
