Roger, our other Klang Dog Pound survivor, can also be discharged already, but we have no fosterer for him.
I talked to the Subang Jaya Buddhist Association (SJBA) president, and he said I could use the space at the back of the temple to foster Roger for a few weeks. But we would have to go in every day to feed the dog and clean up the place since the temple caretaker is terrified of dogs (he has a phobia as his brother had been bitten by a dog in the eye and had to be given 21 injections every day during recovery). Well, I certainly don’t blame him for being frightened.
So, Ainey and I went to buy a big cage and headed for SJBA to assemble the cage, thinking we could bring Roger in.
However, the place had a mosquito problem. And we were worried about heartworm, or just mosquito bites, which could be very, very uncomfortable for a dog in a cage. A dog can’t scratch and cannot apply ointment himself!
And mosquitoes usually bite dogs on their eyelids. Ouch…
We considered using mosquito coil or spraying the place with insecticide, but the caretaker said the mosquitoes still come. Hmm…resistant and persistent mosquitoes, I suppose.
So, Ainey and I could not quite decide on what to do. We decided to shelve the plan for now, and think of other alternatives first.
In between, we had a call from our vet in Bandar Puteri 5 in Puchong, asking if we could discharge little Eva (parvo survivor) because other sick dogs needed boarding. I made a few calls, and Dr Khor, our other vet, could take in Eva for a few days.
So, off we went to Puchong. It was almost 7pm.
Hang on, Roger…we’ll think of somewhere to put you.
Roger is also up for adoption.
He has some Rott looks in him.
He is a very gentle dog, estimated to be about 5-6 years old.
