Another 41 dogs have arrived at the Soi Dog shelter from Nakhon Phanom after a 24 hour road trip accompanied by Soi Dog staff. They are the latest dogs from the approximately 500 survivors following a misguided mission, where over 3,000 owned and stray dogs were taken there as a rabies precaution measure by government agencies.
By the time Soi Dog heard about it around 2,500 had died from disease and starvation in the overcrowded and understaffed Livestock Centre.
Thanks to your support, Soi Dog was able to send teams of vets and nurses and handlers in a successful effort to save the remainder. Gradually we have been moving the dogs to Phuket and the majority after clearance are going to our wonderful partner rescues in the US and Canada. A few will remain in Phuket for ongoing treatment funded by people like you.
Thank you to all who supported our efforts to save them. Please help them to get to their final destination and new homes by donating now at http://bit.ly/Donate_Today_for_Rescued_Dogs
